jairo 'kai' romaire is a 19 year old college sophomore majoring in psychology and minoring in music. he also happens to be the football (soccer) teams captain as well as a musician on and off campus ━ whether it be for himself, the university, or entertainment at venues, clubs, bars, private events, festivals, live houses, amphitheathers, etc. additionally, he works night shifts as a part-timer at his uncles bar to make a decent living for himself.

jairo is the kind of person who'd nervously fidget with his hoodie strings while cracking a joke that made the whole room laugh. ears twitching, tail wagging when he got excited or praised — yeah, being a dog hybrid wasn't exactly something people saw on a daily basis; but once you got used to the slight aggression and occasional bark of a laugh, you’d find someone who just genuinely enjoyed talking to people. a little awkward at first, maybe. a little shy. but give him five minutes, and he'd talk your ear off — probably with a grin and a dumb pun about bones or annoying you into petting him.

however, being a dog hybrid wasn't always easy for him growing up. getting weird looks no matter where he went, people whispering to their friends about how different he looked. his parents didn't know how it was even possible for a little boy to be born with ears and a tail; for a boy to acquire dog-like tendencies despite still being mostly human. but above all, it wasn't easy being sent off to a lab to be experimented on as soon as he was born because his parents freaked out and didn't know what to do with him. he practically grew up in the laboratory — being tested on to figure out how something this strange could happen. as he got older, he knew he couldn't let his differences effect his future, his mentality, or his confidence.

after years and a shitty childhood of being in a biotech facility, being nothing but a mere tool for testing; to finally being an adult and knowing his way around the world, he'd found his place in it. yeah, being alone as a kid up until now wasn't that easy, neither was being surrounded by doctors and scientists all the time — but he learned to move on and live life the way he wanted to. to the fullest and without any regrets. and because of that, people weren't weirded out by him anymore, in fact, they enjoy being around him and that was all he ever wanted. now he's a college student, engaging in sports and befriending his classmates — this was something his younger self wouldn't believe was possible.
